Rev. Aaron Lauer is the Associate Pastor for Emerging Generations at Coral Gables Congregational, United Church of Christ. In this position he works with the youth and young adults of the church as well as social justice and outreach ministries. A native Nebraskan, Aaron attended Hastings College in Hastings, NE and earned his M.A. and M.Div. from United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities. He has been serving in South Florida since 2016.
Aaron combines a passion for mindfulness and spiritual practices with social justice and community transformation. He recognizes the essential need to care for our personal and collective spirits in order to achieve a just and equitable world. In South Florida, he is a leader with a number of community organizations, including People Acting for Community Together (PACT) which is a faith-based community organizing collaborative working on issues of housing, gun violence, and immigration. He also serves on the Leadership Team of the Open and Affirming Coalition of the United Church of Christ, which seeks justice and inclusion for LGBTQ+ people within the denomination.
He also enjoys cooking, reading, exercise, gardening, Russian history, and singing with the Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida.
